Check all of the stock and see what is where and what should not have been consumed that has - correct these. Book 1 in and accept error, write the one off through an inventory journal, that will close it and have no stock. The user has done something to break it, without knowing what they had done and why it is difficult to understand. My guess is they broke it, tried to fix it themselves and made it worse, tried to undo that making it worse then tried to fix it again making it worse and have now passed it over in a position that cannot now be fixed.
