Hi All, I am working with a partner proposing AX 2012 R3 CU9 - Retail “On premises” for a customer. Customer (Contoso) is into fashion retail, has roughly 200 stores & would be using Enterprise–POS at stores. Contoso has approx. 3 million items and 2 million customers which will flow from a 3rd party system to AX. All the items are sold across all the stores throughout the country. We are also figuring out to come up with active items which may bring down the total items to approx. 0.5-1.0 million. As per benchmark for Retail benchmark for AX 2012 R3 published “ November 2014” , 50,000 products were assumed across 2,000 stores with 10 POS terminals per store. We need details about the following points: Q1: What would be the maximum no. of products & maximum no. of customers supported by the store DB (Store DB will have SQL standard)? Q2: What would be the maximum no. of products & maximum no. of customers supported by POS offline DB (Considering SQL express - 10 GB DB limitation and 1 GB Memory Limitation)? Q3: Does sync from Store DB and the POS offline DB only for the incremental changes or the full sync (for updates in item etc.) ? There are some concerns that the data in offline DB is deleted and synced fully. Q4: Does Windows Embedded OS support SQL Server standard edition? (In case customer goes for SQL standard in POS devices) If there are any benchmarks / guidelines for offline POS or past experiences of similar customers please share the same. Appreciate your insights ! Regards, Vaibhav Agarwal
