Forum Post: RE: Upgrade of AX 2009 + SQL 2008 --> AX 2012 R3 + SQL 2012

Hi Andre, thanks for your response. Appreciate it. Does this means the standard tool does not really care which SQL versions of the source and target? I was thinking in minimizing the project's risks (doing 2 changes at the same time, instead of doing 1, let it stabilize, then do another upgrade, let it stabilize). Upgrade to DAX 2012 itself, I believe is already a challenging task? Or am I to worried? :) Newer version of SQL = will be considered. 2016? Does DAX2012 supports it? Same questions as above remains --- or the newer version has got something special features in this context (upgrade)? Thanks in advance :) Best regards, Ferry
