Unless your setup is complicated for some reason, you can just install the AOS software fresh on another machine. When you point it at the SQL Server and business database, it should function identical to, and in fact in parallel with, the old AOS. Then it's a matter of changing user configuration files and such to point to the new AOS, or implementing some type of load balancing or cluster setup if you want that instead. Or, did you mean backup the entire machine and restore it on different hardware? That's a whole other problem.
